Book Club

The Bay Seniors Book Club meets at a member’s home once a month to discuss and share ideas around the featured book. The Halifax Public Library has accumulated a selection of book kits.

Reading books that may be outside our usual choices, and being prepared to report our reactions to events in a novel requires reflection and then organizing our thoughts. This helps keep our brain alert and functioning, and the social aspect of the book club helps combat isolation and loneliness.

Members appreciate varying points of view and responses that reflect personal experiences. As a group, we also have the opportunity to learn about each other, our tastes in literature, and our experiences that help form our opinions.

Update, spring 2023: Are you interested in joining a Bay Seniors Book Club? We will set up a second club if there is sufficient interest. Please call 902-820-3334. The phone is answered Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10am-2pm. Leave a message if calling at other times.
