Donate to help us serve seniors in our area

Did you know Bay Seniors is a registered charity?

We gratefully accept financial donations from our members and the public to support our programs and services.  A charitable receipt is issued for a donation of $25 or more. (Please note that the annual membership fee of $10 does not represent a tax-receiptable donation.)

You are welcome to make an undirected donation, which will be used where it’s most needed. If you prefer, you may specify that your donation support one of the programs described below.

What your donation does

Here are just some of the ways your donation can serve seniors in the St. Margaret’s Bay area:

  • Provide transportation to our weekly Drop-in Program, monthly Crafting Workshops, and Monthly Members’ Meetings for those without their own transportation.
  • Help Bay Seniors volunteers keep in touch by phone and through home visits with seniors who are less able to access the community.
  • Support participation by seniors in hobbies and other interests with like-minded seniors.
  • Help defray the costs of fitness programs geared to seniors.
  • Offer simple home repairs, brush and tree clearing, and delivery of split firewood.
  • Provide transportation and assistance for grocery shopping.

Note: Some of the above programs and services have eligibility requirements, to ensure we are first serving the needs of seniors with modest incomes.

How to donate

  1. Drop off cash or a cheque in person at the St. Margaret’s Bay Community Enterprise Centre. Include your name, telephone number, and mailing address, and specify that it is a donation. The volunteer who takes your donation will give you a receipt, and a tax receipt will be mailed to you within three weeks.
  2. Donate by e-transfer. If you are donating through online banking, email finance@bayseniors.ca. Please include, in the message section, your full name, telephone number, and address, and the word “donation.” A tax receipt will be mailed to you within three weeks.
  3. Make a donation through Canada Helps. Go here and click on “Donate to this charity.” You will get an instant tax receipt by e-mail.
