New Bay Seniors program: Jigsaw Puzzle Library

Do you enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles? Would you like an opportunity to swap one of your puzzles for a new one?

Starting Monday, April 19, there will be a Jigsaw Puzzle Library at the Community Enterprise Centre for Bay Seniors members only. Between 10 a.m. and noon, Monday to Friday, just bring in one of your puzzles, put it in the Drop Off box, and pick out a new-to-you puzzle to take home.

There will be a sign-out sheet to help us track who has puzzles. Until we know how popular the library may be, we are asking members to exchange only one puzzle per visit. To avoid disappointment, please ensure all a puzzle’s pieces are in the box (in a zippered plastic bag, if possible). If a piece is missing, please let us know with a note in or on the box.

To comply with Covid precautions, any puzzles dropped off will not be put in the library until the following week.

Get your Green thumb on at our Good Gardens event, virtually or in person

Container gardening and growing your own produce can be fun, easy and satisfying. And by planting the right things together in the right soil, you can get a surprisingly large yield. Join Bay Seniors for Good Gardens on Thursday, May 13 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. to learn more from experts.

Offered in partnership with the St. Margaret’s Bay Gardening Club and Transition Bay St. Margaret’s, Good Gardens includes presentations on container gardening and tips for growing our own produce. There will also be a planting demo, an opportunity for participants to plant something to bring home, and door and draw prizes.

To comply with Covid precautions, seating for the in-person event at Shining Waters is limited, and available only to Bay Seniors members. Pre-registration by May 11 is required, but if you register by May 4 at noon, you’ll have your name entered in our Early-Bird Prize Draw.

The entire program will also be available to view live on the Bay Seniors Facebook page. See more details in the May newsletter.

Register by email at centre@bayseniors.ca, by phone at 902-826-1680, or in person, weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the Community Enterprise Centre, 5229 St. Margaret’s Bay Road (in the Redmond’s Plaza).
